9 Months Old!

William turned 9 months old today. We can't believe how fast the time has gone. He is constantly exploring and is always on the go. He loves shoe laces (really any shoes), playing in the houseplants (we tried moving them and he immediately hunted them down), and interacting with other kids. He also really likes to pull himself up on the furniture with a toy in his hand. Then he'll drop it and bend down to pick it up (with one had still holding on). He repeats this about 10 times before he gets tired or falls off balance. Then he'll rest for 5 seconds and start over. This week, we had a play date at Woodland Mall. We met Katie and John at the breakfast cereal. Although Will wasn't too sure about it at first (see the egg photo), he soon got into the spirit and was crawling and climbing all over the place. We don't have his 9 month check up until we get back from our cruise - we'll have height and weight updates then!

Great Grandma Julia Would Be So Proud!

Will has a drawer in the kitchen that he's allowed to open that is full of tupperware and measuring cups. He really likes playing with his Great Grandma Julia's old metal measuring cups. He bangs them on the floor and of course, puts them in his mouth. He has also taken a liking to Wheel of Fortune, which was her favorite game show!

Rocking Out with Dad

Will loves when Phil plays the guitar. He pulls himself up on Phil's leg to listen. He's also started putting his hands on the strings which makes him laugh. It's pretty cute to watch!

Play Date!

For Christmas, a group my girlfriends gave our husbands tickets to a Grand Rapids Griffins hockey game so they could have a "Boys Night Out." The girls decided to get together with the kids for dinner and a play date. Everyone ended up at our house: 4 moms and 5 kids (between the ages of 6 months and 2 1/4 years old - oh, and a Baby deGoa on the way). It was really fun watching the kids interact with one another. Will is definitely a flirt - he smiled at the other girls and they would play with him and make him giggle. The kids did great. They stayed over until about 8pm (past some of their bedtimes!). The moms changed them into their PJs and handed out bottles before hitting the road.

Climbing the Stairs

Will is learning something new everyday. His favorite activity is climbing our basement stairs. If you take him down there, he'll play for a few minutes before heading straight to the steps. He's gotten pretty good at them. He also climbed the stairs at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

A few new videos

In addition to eating Cheerio's, he also devours his fist on occasion.

Yes, he is chewing on the baby bumper on the fireplace.

8 Months Old!

I was a bit under the weather last week so Will's 8 Month Post is a little late. As you can see, he's had another growth spurt. He is a good little crawler - super speedy - especially when going after things he's not supposed to play with (outlets, electrical cords, and his favorite, the carbon monoxide detector). He's also started pulling himself up on furniture which prompted us to lower his crib down to the lowest level. Since he's constantly on the move, he's taking two good naps and is sleeping really well at night.
