Up North - Day 4

 I don't have any pictures from our last day.  Phil and Alex went to play disc golf at the course in Interlochen while I got the cottage packed up.  Then we went to the farmers market in Interlochen and the used book store.  We wrapped up the trip with lunch at Oaky's before heading home.  It was another great trip to the cottage!

Up North - Day 3

On Saturday, we went back into Traverse City to shop the other side of Front Street before heading into Sutton's Bay. We walked around town for a while before going to Hop Lot. We spent a couple hours there having lunch and playing games in the beer garden. Then we stopped at the property before going back to the cottage. Will decided to work another week at camp, so he was driving back to Kalamazoo Saturday night. Alex just wanted to relax at the cottage so we had another fire and enjoyed the porch.

Up North - Day 2

We woke up on Friday and drove to the Platte River. Phil and Will used the inflatable kayaks and paddled down the river (takes about an hour and 45 minutes) while Alex and I went down to the beach. After Phil and Will joined us, we had lunch and spent some time just enjoying the beach. Then we drove to Moomer's for ice cream. The cows were out by the back fence which was fun. Then we went to Traverse to play some pinball at Coin Slot and had dinner at Paesano's.

Up North - Day 1

Since Alex is starting band camp in August, we had to move our trip to the cottage to July this year. We drove up on Thursday morning and stopped at the cottage to unpack. Then we went into Traverse City and walked one side of Front Street before having lunch at Folgarelli's. Then we drove to Pirate's Cove to play both mini golf courses. There were several holes in one. Phil even got a hole in one on a special "hole of the day" that won us a free round the next time we go (we confirmed we could use it next year). Then we went back to the cottage and went for a boat ride around the lake and had hotdogs by the fire.

 

First Round of Senior Photos!

Will had his first round of senior photos today. We spent part of the time at Crane Park off of Westnedge and then moved to Wings Event Center for some on ice shots. The photographer posted a few previews on Facebook and we will get access to the full album soon!

 

Blue Lake Pick-Up

We picked Alex up from Blue Lake today. He had such a great time and made so many new friends. We got to see his concert in the band shell which was impressive.

 

Traverse City

While Alex was at Blue Lake and Will was counseling at Wakeshma, Phil and I went to Traverse City for a few nights.  We stayed at the Grand Traverse Resort and had a great room on the 15th floor overlooking the bay.  We did a lot of walking, shopping, and went to some of our favorite restaurants.  We also went to Sutton’s Bay and Leland.  It was a great trip!
