Kalamazoo Balloon Festival

Will and I went to Gull Meadow Farms on Friday night for the Kalamazoo Balloon festival.  Unfortunately, the weather was a little too windy, so they cancelled the official balloon launch.  They did let pilots decide if they wanted to fly so we saw a few take off.  We got dinner from the food trucks and picked up cider and donuts.  We ran into friends and hung out until the balloon glow which is fun to see.  After watching the glow for a while, we rushed to the car to beat the traffic out.

Visit with Uncle Andrew

We had a fun visit with Uncle Andrew: backyard games, porch games, dinner at Bell’s, disc golf, and a trip to PCHS to catch the end of marching band practice.

PCMB - End of Band Camp Performance

Today was the final day of band camp. Unfortunately, it was raining so they had to move the show inside and they weren't able to march.  But it was great to hear all the music.  After the show, there was a picnic in the PCHS commons to celebrate.  Starting next week, they only have practice two nights/week which will be a nice break after the 9 hours/day they had this week.

PCMB Band Camp: Days 1-3

This week, the band is practicing 9 hours a day. They have made a lot of progress! They have the choreography for the first two songs: Chandelier and Spectrum. Each night, parents are encouraged to come to watch the last 30-60 minutes. The band has a parent volunteer that take photos each night and there are quite a few of Alex.

PCMB Pre Camp

Marching band pre-camp started this week. It was Monday - Thursday from 9am-noon and 1:30 - 4:30pm. They worked on their show songs and also learned some of the basics of marching (a refresher for the returning members). Alex had a lot of fun.
