8th Grade Spring Band Concert
It was the 8th grade band concert tonight. They did a great job as usual! Alex was also recognized for being in jazz band, participating in band mentorship, competing in solo & ensemble festival, and auditioning for (and receiving) a Blue Lake scholarship.
IBO Championships
On Saturday morning, Alex participated in the IBO championships. There were 30 3D targets and he had one arrow for each target. They were at various distances and were staggered and didn't increase/decrease by one meter like the NASP 3D tournament so it was much trickier. He did great and didn't have any misses. It was fun to see the different targets like an alligator and a grizzly bear standing up on its hind legs.

NASP Nationals 2026
Alex and I drove to Louisville after school on Thursday for archery nationals. We stayed right downtown at a really nice Embassy Suites. Alex shot 3D at 10:15 Friday morning and then had time to run around with teammates before shooting bullseye at 2pm. He didn’t shoot as well as he would have liked but still had a fun day. After we got back to the hotel, we walked across the pedestrian bridge to Indiana and had dinner at a fun spot with yard games. Then we got ice cream before walking back to the hotel.
Staff Appreciation Week
The PTO spoiled us for staff appreciation week. It was Hawaiian themed with decorations, açaí bowls, tiki drinks, catered lunch, Dole Whip, and Moorsbridge beach towels. dv/s5705/IMG_3334.jpeg" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; clear: left; float: left;">

Island City Smash Bash Runners Up
The Muskies competed in the Island City Smash Bash in Eaton Rapids this weekend. They had two games on Saturday afternoon. They played their third game on Sunday morning and advanced to the elimination round. They won two more games and made it to the Championship. Unfortunately, they lost in the Championship. They played really well on Sunday and it was impressive to have 6 games in one weekend. Sunday was a very long day at the ballfields - especially since it was pretty cool and windy.

8th Grade Farewell Dance
Tonight was the 8th Grade Farewell dance at PCMS. Alex and his friends met a Y’OPA before the dance for some frozen yogurt and then walked to the middle school together. The theme of the dance was “Night in NYC” and it looks like everyone had a lot of fun!
