On Saturday night, we had a surprise 40th anniversary party for Martin and Ilze at Charley's Crab. We had been planning it for several months and it went off without a hitch! We had friends and family in for the party and they were definitely surprised. Here are a few photos from the dinner and brunch:

Will's First Tigers Game
This weekend, we took Will to his first Tigers game. We gave Phil tickets for Father’s Day and drove down Friday night to visit with Grann before the game. Will had so much fun playing with all the fun toys at Grann’s house.
On Saturday, we went to Birmingham so Will could play on the playground and we could have lunch at Leo’s before heading down to the game. Will napped in the car and we had to wake him up once we got downtown. We arrived about 2 hours before game time so we had plenty of time to see the carousel, the baseball fountain, and explore the park. Just before the game started, we got a big tub of popcorn which kept Will occupied for the first 3 innings. Then I took Will out to walk around so Phil could enjoy the game. Aunt Katie was also at the game so we met up with her and she walked around with us for a bit. At the start of the 7th inning, we got in line for french fries and lemonade and made it back to our seats to see the last 2 innings.
On Sunday, we went to Northville to walk around a bit and let Will play on the playground. Then we had a picnic lunch before heading home.

Happy 4th of July / Happy Birthday Phil!
We had a great 4th of July weekend. On Saturday, we walked into Gaslight to pick up a few things at the store. It was really hot an humid, so we let Will play in the fountain. He had a blast and got completely soaked. Saturday night, we had some friends over with their kids. The adults were able to catch up while the kids played in the backyard. The cupcakes were a huge hit - especially with William. It required a creative clean-up.
On Sunday, we walked back into town and were able to capture Will's frolicking through the fountain on video. Then we had a picnic lunch at the Botanical Gardens and spent about 2 hours playing in the fountains/tree house/farm/etc. Sunday night, we took Phil out to a Japanese Steakhouse for dinner. Will was really into the "show" until they lit a big flame. Then he wanted someone to have their arm around him at all times and ended up sitting in our laps for quite a while. He did love the fountain and fish in the lobby and when they threw food.
On Monday, we went for a walk again before heading up to the parade. We had a picnic while we waited and then Will proceeded to get a nice haul of candy. We ran into our friends afterwards and went down to the lake to play in the bounce house and watch the waterskiers. After an hour or so at the lake, we treated Will (and ourselves) to ice cream at Jersey Junction before heading home for a late nap. Then we went to our friends' house for a late dinner before taking Will to his first fireworks. He really enjoyed them. He was in great spirits despite the really late bedtime and wasn't afraid. We're all a little tired this morning!
Mmmmm.... Cupcake!
Waiting for the parade to start
Check out my cool new hat!
