Tailgate

We are now the proud owners of a Chrysler Town and Country. Yup - we own a minivan. We were able to get a really nice one: power sliding doors, DVD players, stow and go seating, blind spot detectors, leather seats, back up monitor, etc. Phil was able to pick the car up on Friday afternoon. Will seems to really like it - especially the "magic doors."

Grann also came to visit this weekend. After she got in, we went up to Gaslight for Friday dinner at Ramona's table. On Saturday morning, we took advantage of the stow and go feature to pick up supplies for the U of M alumni club Oktoberfest/Tailgate for the MSU game. We went to Meijer to pick up food for 150 people and then went out to Cannonsburg to get things set up. The club had rented a lodge and we were able to set up a huge projection screen inside and also had a TV set up outside. We had pumpkin decorating, cookie decorating, and several other crafts for the kids. We had a nice spread including hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, potato salad, cider/donuts from Robinette's, etc. Grann brought Will up closer to game time. He seemed to have fun running around and exploring.

On Sunday, we went out to breakfast and then took Will to the mall to run around for a bit. In the afternoon, the sun came out and he was able to go to the playground for a bit.

Will's First Day of School

Today was Will's first day of "school." He seemed pretty excited this morning - especially about the little door and getting to go to the playground. When we dropped him off, we went around to his naptime cubby and his locker to put his things away. He immediately started asking the teacher all sorts of questions. Then they sat down to play with some legos. We said our goodbyes and snuck out without any tears. Hopefully the day goes well and he doesn't have a meltdone once he realizes we're gone!

Some Videos

Will has been really into levers lately. He even knows what a fulcrum is. This isn't the best video - harder toys tend to fly better than lovey.

At least this makes a lot of noise so we know when he's heading downstairs. We trust him on the stairs, but he's figured out how to climb onto our exercise bike, sit on the seat, and then stretch/climb across so he is sitting on the handle bars.

Will has been building elaborate roads/parking garages lately(future civil engineer, perhaps?). He is very precise with his block placement and will change his design plan when pieces aren't very stable.

Fall Weekend

It was the perfect fall weekend and we definitely took advantage! On Friday night, we went over to one of Phil's co-worker's house for dinner. They have two kids (ages 5 and 2 1/2) and Will had a great time playing with them and all their toys.

We woke up to frost Saturday morning and decided to go to Koetsier's (greenhouse). They have a fun indoor fall play area set up for kids. There were bounce houses, pumpkin decorating, giant sandboxes filled with corn kernals, and and a snack bar. Will had a great time playing and did a great job painting his pumpkin. Then we went on a hayride. We all got an apple to eat along the way and stopped in their "pumpkin patch" and Will was able to pick out another pumpkin. In the afternoon, we went over to our friends' house to watch the Michigan game (Go Blue!) and Will got to play with Claire and Caroline.

On Sunday, we bundled up to walk into town. Then we went to visit Oma for a bit and then Katie and Billy stopped by to visit us.
