Happy Birthday Dear William!

At 1:22am today, William officially turned 4! He slept in a bit this morning and then had a birthday breakfast of oatmeal (his choice). Then we opened some gifts as a family. We got him a new big boy bike and helmet, but we gave it to him a few weeks ago so he would have it for his trike-a-thon at school. He received a few more "Magic Treehouse" books and Alex gave him some additional wooden train tracks so he could build tracks on the ground. (The track on our train table are glued/screwed down). Then we took a walk/bike ride up to town before family came over for a small party.

Grandma and Grandpa came over along with Aunt Mara and Uncle Ken. Aunt Katie and Billy even came up from Royal Oak to help celebrate. We had some more cake and Will opened even more presents. He got some hockey sticks and space books from Grandma and Grandpa. He also got Walkie Talkies which were a huge hit. We spent a good portion of the day communicating via walkie talkie. He also got a cool ring toss game from Aunt Katie and Will and a really fun playmobile boat from Aunt Mara and Uncle Ken which was christened in the bath tub tonight. Despite having to rest in bed ("I am just so exhausted... I need to lay down for a bit") he had a really fun birthday. We spent the majority of the day playing with all his new toys.

Will's Bowling Birthday

Today we celebrated Will's 4th birthday at Clique Lanes.  He had a nice time bowling with all his friends.  They had the bumpers set up so all the kids were able to participate.  Will received a lot of really nice gifts and was sad when the party was over.

Trike-a-Thon

Will had great time at school on Friday. Not only was it the St. Jude's trike-a-thon but he also got to bring in birthday treats. The kids got to go out to the circle drive for an hour in the morning to ride their bikes (Will got to take his new birthday bike).  They went out again in the afternoon.  It was a beautiful day and they all had fun.  On Friday night, we walked up to town for dinner at Ramona's Table and were able to sit outside for the first time this year. 

T-Ball

Will had his first t-ball practice tonight. It was supposed to be last week but it was cancelled due to the monsoon that went through GR last week. But tonight was beautiful and Will was so excited to go. Phil was able to make it and he and Will had fun going through the stations. They practiced pitching, fielding, hitting, and hitting/running the bases. Will had a smile on his face the whole time.

On Saturday, we took a trip down to Kalamazoo to visit the Air Zoo. We've been hearing about it since we moved to West Michigan but never went. It was a lot of fun. Both kids had a great time. Will loved all the rides. He was quite the dare devil. Alex liked the rides he went on as well.  It was a good way to spend a few hours on a chilly morning.

Jester's Court

It was a chilly day yesterday, so the boys and I went out to Jester's Court. It is a bounce house place that also has indoor play equipment (like Java Gym). It was our first time there and we were very impressed. We practically had the place to ourselves (they said they reached capacity of 400 during spring break!) so the boys were able to do lots of playing. Will was very adventurous and tried all the slides and obstacle courses. Alex just tried to keep up with his big brother.

We finally had a break in the rain and the temperature was close to 60 so the boys were able to play in the yard. We introduced Alex to Fort William (which is in the process of being renamed). He loved it!

Happy Birthday, Allie!

This weekend, we went to Detroit for Allie's first birthday party. Unfortunately, Alex was under the weather and wasn't able to make the trip. But William had a great time at the party.  William and Allie both loved the bounce house and the large tricycles. And they both loved the cake! It was a really nice party... we can't believe she is one already!
