Moorsbridge Carnival

Tonight was the end of the year carnival at Moorsbridge. We purchased a wristband for the kids and then they were free to play any of the games and use the bounce houses. The games were set up behind the school. They included: ring toss, football throw, slap shot, surprise door, plinko, "Grand Prize Game," etc. Each child ended up with a piece of candy after playing each game. We ended up with a bag full of loot. They also had sno cones, cotton candy, and cupcake decorating. A local BBQ place had a food booth and donated a portion of the proceeds back to the school. It was a fun night!

Rain Forest Program

Today, Alex and I went up to school to watch William's "Rain Forest Presentation." The kids sang several songs and also did some sign language. It was very cute!

Productive Weekend

We were able to get a lot of projects completed this weekend. On Saturday morning, we planted our vegetable garden. This year we are planning to grow: tomatoes (2 varieties), zucchini, cucumbers, jalapeƱos, green onions, green beans, lettuce, blueberries, strawberries and various herbs. After planting the garden, we assembled our new fire pit for the backyard. Then we went out for a quick lunch before stopping at school to do some work for the "Beautification Committee." The boys played on the playground while we created a border around the flag pole, dug up weeds/grass, and spread some mulch. It isn't perfect, but much better than when we started! In the evening, we decided to try out the new fire pit. The boys roasted hot dogs for dinner with s'mores for dessert. Several of the neighbors joined us. It was a very pleasant evening.

Day Out With Thomas

On Friday, we drove to Grann's to visit for the weekend. On Saturday morning, we went to Greenfield Village for "Day Out With Thomas." The boys were so excited to see their favorite blue engine. We got to go for a ride around the village and then spent the day wandering around, playing in the play area, riding the carousel, and taking a horse and carriage ride. Thomas was definitely the highlight... we had to stop and watch every time he went by.

Air Zoo Field Trip

Today was the Kindergarten trip to the Air Zoo. Alex and I were chaperons and had a lot of fun running around the Air Zoo with William and his friends. Alex made friends with the operator of the airplane ride and pretty much rode non-stop for 30 minutes.

Mother's Day Tea

On Thursday afternoon, we were invited to a Mother's Day Tea with the Kindergarten class. Grandma was able to come down for it as well. There was a sweet performance in the cafeteria and then we went back to Will's classroom for refreshments.

Sky Zone Birthday Fun

Today was William's birthday party with his friends from school. We had the party at Sky Zone - the trampoline park. We had 15 little boys in attendance and they were all very well behaved and seemed to have a lot of fun. The boys spent most of their time in the dodge ball area. A few kids (including Alex) ventured to the giant foam pit. After an hour of non-stop jumping, we went to the party room for pizza, cake and presents. The boys were all so excited to see William open the gift they brought. He received a lot of wonderful gifts including several Lego kits (but no duplicates!), a snap circuit kit, RC motorcycle and jeep, Nerf guns, water guns, and a Red Wings hat. He is one lucky boy!
