Alex's First Hockey Game

Alex had his first hockey game today. He was so happy to be able to wear his second new jersey and play with his teammates. Grann, Grandma and Grandpa, and Aunt Mara and Uncle Ken drove over to watch both Will and Alex play. They enjoyed having a large cheering section!

Alex's Birthday Bike

The weather was warm enough today for Alex to try out his birthday bike. It took him a few tries to get the hang of starting on the larger bike and a few more times to dismount gracefully... but within 30 minutes he had the hang of it!

Alex's Hockey Team

Alex was finally assigned to his official hockey team - BJ Sports. He was so excited to get his uniform! Unfortunately, they are actually going to reorder them in black (they ended up with two red teams) but it was fun to have them for today.

Griffins' Jamboree

The U8 KOHA teams were invited to participate in the Griffins' Jamboree at Van Andel Arena on Saturday. The boys had their normal hockey practice in the morning and then we went up to GR for the two tournament games. Will's team did really well. Will scored three goals in their first game and one goal in the second game. It was fun to see him play on "the big ice." Grandma and Grandpa also came to watch the games. Afterwards, we went to visit our friends, the Lanes, for a while. We walked into Gaslight Village and had dinner at Big Bob's. Then we all went to the Griffins' Game. During the second intermission, they acknowledged all the players that participated in the Jamboree.

Alex had a class field trip to Airway Lanes today. The kids had a great time bowling! It was a fun field trip to chaperone... and a very short bus ride!

Great Morning of Hockey

William had three great hockey games this morning. He scored 7 of his team's 9 goals. He is a lot of fun to watch! Alex had practice right after Will's games and he did great as well.

Auto Show

On Saturday, Phil took the boys to the Detroit Auto Show after Will's morning hockey practice. They parked in Greek Town and took the People Mover to Cobo. The boys enjoyed climbing into all the cars, trucks, and motorcycles. On the way home, they met Grann in Ann Arbor for dinner. This was the first year that Alex was old enough to go. It is a fun annual tradition for the boys!
