KOHA Holiday Tournament

The boys played in a fun 3-on-3 hockey tournament over break. William's team played in the 8U division and had 3 wins and 1 loss for the day. They played really well and beat one of their rival KOHA teams. Alex's team played in the 6U division, however, they ended up playing some 7U and 7U/8U teams. They only won one game, however, it was against the only other 6U team. They held their own against the older kids! Alex was very excited to try goalie for the first time.

Merry Christmas!

William woke us up at 6:00am this morning - but, we managed to send him back to bed until 6:30. Then we all went downstairs to find that Santa had paid us a visit. We had our traditional Christmas morning breakfast of cinnamon rolls, bacon, and sausage and then started opening our presents. We took our time and played with everything as we opened it. When the boys opened their disc golf cage, we bundled up and went out in the snow to throw some discs. It was a winter wonderland! Then we came back in to open more gifts. After lunch, we went back outside for a while. We have spent the day playing games, building legos, and reading books. Later this afternoon, we plan to watch the Polar Express.

Christmas Eve

We spent a very fun Christmas Eve in Grand Rapids with Grandma and Grandpa, Aunt Mara and Uncle Ken, and Katie and Will. The boys decorated some ugly Christmas sweater cookies to start and we had a nice meal with all our favorites: ham, piragi, macaroni and cheese, meatballs, crackers and cheese and salad. After dinner, we did our gift exchange and then played a few games. Will was the big winner - he ended up winning $13 on his lottery tickets. The boys were able to go down to Uncle Ken's shop to put together their new bat racks for their souvenir bats from our stadium tour. They both fell asleep in the car on the way home but woke up enough to put out cookies for Santa. We were so excited that the snow started to fall. We were due for a white Christmas!
