Santa brought the boys RC boats for Christmas. Since the weather has been a bit warmer, the ponds in the neighborhood have opened up. The boys decided they wanted to take them for a spin. It was pretty fun to watch them zip around the pond.

Alex's Hockey Weekend
Alex had a busy hockey weekend. He started the weekend with an early practice on Saturday. Then we went to Grand Rapids so he could play in the 6U Jamboree at Van Andel Arena. Grandma and Grandpa came to watch and we ran into a few friends with kids that play hockey in Grand Rapids. Phil and the boys stayed in GR for the Griffins game that night. On Sunday, both boys had games and then Alex's team went out for an ice cream party hosted by the team sponsor (their son is also on the team). We went to a cute diner/ice cream parlor and the boys shared a 21 scoop ice cream sundae.

Adventures in Dog Sitting
This weekend, we dog sat for our friends. She is a sweet little dog. The boys enjoyed walking her and giving her treats.

This and That
Here are just a few shots of what we've been up to this past week. The boys are still playing hockey but indoor baseball practice has also started. We are very proud of Will - he tried out for an 8U team that will play in the 8U State Championships. KOHA formed three teams and Will made the middle team. We enjoyed a nice hike at the nature center on Sunday afternoon - before all the rain came!

Happy Valentine's Day
Happy Valentine's Day! The boys woke up to a fun breakfast and some Valentine's gifts. They had their parties back-to-back in the afternoon so I was able to swing by both of them. William's class handed out Valentines, had an ice cream sundae bar, and played Bingo (with stuffed animal prizes). The Kindergartners rotated through all four classrooms to do an art project, play Bingo, do some word searches and bean bag games, and to decorate heart cookies. We made heart shaped calzones for dinner and finished the sugar filled day with cupcakes.

Harry Potter and the GR Symphony
Last night, William and I went to Grand Rapids to see Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban with the Grand Rapids Symphony. The boys had a snow day, but fortunately, the snow tapered off by mid afternoon and we were still able to make it to the show. We had dinner at the Amway Hotel and then walked the skywalk just for fun. Then we went to Devos Performance Hall for the show. Everyone received a free wand (it chose us) and they had photo opps with the house banners and the sorting hat. There was a great atmosphere for the show - we were encouraged to cheer for our favorite characters and favorite parts of the movie.
