Memorial Weekend Fun

We had a lot of fun this Memorial Weekend. In addition to the beach and Bair Lake, we roasted hot dogs over the fire and the boys had a backyard camp out with Phil. We went out to brunch on Sunday morning and the boys went disc golfing. We also made three trips to the pool and went to a cookout in the neighborhood. It was a great unofficial start to summer!

Bair Lake Family Day

We went to the Bair Lake Family Open House today. The boys were excited to go back to camp! William will be spending an entire week at overnight camp this summer and Alex will be doing another week of day camp. It turned out to be a beautiful day. We got to camp right at 10am when the event started. The boys were able to do the zip line and "the stand" before the lines got too long. Then we did the BB gun station, archery tag, mini golf, and beach volleyball before lunch. After lunch, we went down to the waterfront and Phil and the boys took a canoe out for a bit. Then the kids swam for a while before we had ice cream. They are looking forward to the end of July when they can go back.

Silver Beach

The boys had a half day on Friday so we decided to take advantage and head to Silver Beach for the afternoon. The water was still pretty chilly, but the boys splashed around and built some sand castles. We also played on the playground and walked to the splash pad. We hiked up to the bluff overlooking the beach before having dinner at Silver Beach Pizza. Then we grabbed ice cream and walked out on the pier to see the light house. It was a fun way to unofficially kick off summer.

Kitchen Remodel

Our kitchen renovation is finally complete. We refinished the existing boxes, replaced all the doors, drawers, and pulls, added a subway tile backsplash, replaced some of the appliances and had the walls painted. We love how it turned out!

Golden Glove!

Alex was the Golden Glove winner for the Grey Tornadoes tonight. He had three great hits and also made some good plays at first base. He lead his team in cheers on the bench and hustled around the bases. He's turning into a good little ball player! We actually had the entire team at the game tonight so we took a quick team photo. It's a good looking group!

Baseball

The weather hasn't been cooperating for baseball lately. We were rained out last Monday. Will's game was rescheduled for Friday and they ended up playing in the rain (no lightning). Then, Will had rainy weather all weekend at his baseball tournament. I didn't capture any great action shots of the game. Maybe next time!

Kindergarten Mother's Day

Today was the Kindergarten Mother's Day celebration at school. The four kindergarten classes performed a short program in the cafeteria and then we went back to their classrooms for a snack. It was very sweet - the kids were so happy to see their moms, grandmas, aunts, or friends there.
