Archery Lesson

Alex has been asking about archery lessons lately.  He loves playing Zelda and one of the main characters has a bow and arrow.  Fortunately, Mr. Grindall owns several bows and even offered to give Alex a lesson.  Alex was so excited and had a huge grin on his face for the rest of the afternoon.

8U MAHA State Championship

Alex's 8U Plus team played in the 8U MAHA State Championship this weekend.  They played four games on Saturday against Traverse City (won 5-1), another KOHA team (won 21-0), Oakland Grizzlies '13 birth year (won 4-2) and the Oakland Grizzlies '12 birth year (lost 11-2).  They ended up second in their pool so they advanced to the semifinals.  Unfortunately, they had to play the Oakland Grizzlies '12 team again.  This time we lost 5-0 so they improved!  We were playing in the top division and ended up 3rd in the state.  The boys were disappointed to lose but were proud to be third place! 

KWings Season Video

Kids vs. Family

Tonight was the Kids vs. Family game for the KWings.  It is always a fun way to end the season.  There were quite a few dads and siblings that actually played hockey so Phil and I did not get on the ice.  

Final KWings Tournament

 We had Will's final hockey tournament in Indianapolis this weekend.  The boys went 2-2 on the weekend losing to two teams from Illinois that were older, much bigger, and faster.  They still played hard and had a lot of fun.  Will scored two goals this weekend.  Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get video but do have a clip of an "almost goal" from a cool angle.  We also gave the coaches their end of season gifts and Alex got to swim in the nice hotel pool.  Thanks to Grandma for watching Winger so we could all go this weekend!

Alex's Rube Goldberg Machine

Alex had to create a Rube Goldberg machine for school.  He decided he wanted to turn off the lights in his room.  It was a fun project to work on!

 

Happy St. Patrick's Day

The boys built their annual Leprechaun Traps after school yesterday and then went out with flashlights this morning to see if they caught anything.  As usual, the leprechauns got away but left chocolate coins!

Will's Goal

Today was Will's last regular season game (they still have a tournament next weekend).  The KWings won 9-4 and Will scored their first goal.  

Final Day of 8U

Alex had his last day of regular 8U this morning.  They played three games and received their medals at the end.  I managed to get video of one of Alex's goals.

Middle School Band Concert

Will had his first Middle School band concert tonight.  The kids were able to go into the High School auditorium and the concert was live streamed for family and friends.  It was fun to see him all dressed up and he loved the experience.  The band did great - especially since this was the first time they had all played together face to face.
