Memorial Weekend

Happy Memorial Day!  We spent the majority of the weekend outside: whiffle ball, archery, fire pit, bunt baseball, bike rides, and lots of yard work.  We spread 12 yards of mulch, power washed almost everything (front porch, patio, garage floor, front walk, and outdoor furniture), installed edging along the front wall, and even worked on the flag pole at West Portage.  The weather was gorgeous - we are ready for summer!

Will’s First Job

Will has officially joined the workforce - he umped his first game at West Portage Little League tonight.  $25/game… not bad for a 13 year old.

Muskies - BPA Sandlot Classic Runners-Up

The Muskies had a great weekend of baseball at the BPA Sandlot Classic in Richland, MI.  On Saturday, they won their first game of the season 7-0 against the HA - Kaptains.  Then the won their second game 29-0 against the Lakeshore Warriors.  Since we won both our games and didn’t give up any runs, we were the #1 seed going in to Sunday.  We ended up playing the Warriors again on Sunday and won 13-1 to advance to the championship game.  We played a very tough Bronco team.  We hung with them through four innings but then they took the lead.  We are so proud of how hard they worked this weekend.  They are getting better each weekend.

 

Happy Father’s Day!

We had a very nice Father's Day fillwd with lots of outdoor fammily time. We started the day by taking Winger for a neighborhood walk. Then we went to the park so the boys could do a couple rounds of batting practice. After lunch, we went to the Nature Center for a 4+ mile hike. When we got home, we set up the Badminton net and enjoyed steak sandwiches by the fire pit.

 

LCAHL Day at Comerica Park

Will's KWings team was invited to go on the field at Comerica Park before the Tiger’s game as part of their LCAHL Champions Parade.  What a fun experience for the boys!

 

7th Grade Band Concert

Will had his final 7th grade band concert tonight. They sounded great! He got to play keyboard (xylophone), cymbal, and drum set. We stopped at Y'OPA for frozen yogurt to celebrate.

Happy Birthday Winger!

We celebrated Winger’s 2nd birthday today.  He had streamers by his bowl, fancy cookies, and a new stuffed rabbit toy.  He enjoyed a lot of sunbeams, walks, and belly rubs.  He fell asleep with his rabbit by his side.
