Will had a tournament in Chicago this weekend. Phil and Will drove down after we cut down our tree. There were a lot of tough teams in the tournament - we were the only team made up of only 13 year olds. The other teams were a mix of 13 and 14 year olds. We went 2-2 for the weekend and played hard against a very tough (and dirty) team from Texas. Will had a goal in the game on Sunday and was then checked to the ground by the other team. Phil and Will stopped in Chicago for lunch before heading home.

Christmas Tree Day
On Friday morning, we went to Hart's Tree Farm to cut down our tree. It was a beautiful day and it was very crowded. We found a perfect frasier fir and got it loaded into my car. Then Phil and Will drove to Chicago for Will's hockey tournament. Alex and I had lunch at the Corner Bar before picking up Winger at Grandma's house. When we got back to Kalamazoo, Alex helped me get the tree in the stand. We put the lights up and had the tree ready to decorate on Sunday when the boys got back from Chicago.

Van Gogh at the DIA
After volunteering, I drove to Detroit to meet up with Katie, Will, Aunt Mara, Uncle Ken, and my mom for lunch in Ferndale. We were celebrating Ken and Mara's 75th birthdays and 40th Anniversary. After lunch, we went to the DIA for the Van Gogh exhibit which was so fun to see.
Volunteering at Try Hockey for Free and the 8U Jamboree
On Saturday morning, we all volunteered at Try Hockey for Free and the 8U Jamboree/Chili Challenge. I was working the registration/welcome table, Will and his team were on the ice helping all the little kids, and then Phil, Will and Alex helped set up the boards after the Zamboni was out. It is always such a fun day at KOHA.
