Pretty Goals

 The boys had some pretty goals this weekend.

Alex’s Birthday Sleepover

Alex had an early afternoon hockey game on Saturday and a late afternoon game on Sunday so we were able to squeeze in a birthday sleepover with some friends.  The boys had pizza, ice cream cake, Alex opened presents and they had lots of very loud fun. 

Moorsbridge Fun

Alex has been meeting after school with his Battle of the Books team (The Moorsbridge McNuggets) to get ready for their battle on February 13. He also had his last day of being a safety- they switch with another 5th grade class at the semester.

Memorabilia from the Big Ten Tournament

We received a fun surprise from our friends on the KWings.  They have a friend that works at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis which is where the Big Ten Tournament took place.  They asked their friend for something for us since we are such big Michigan fans.  We got this 20’ banner that was hanging in the stadium when Michigan won!  It is now hanging in our garage. 

 

Skiing

Will took his buddy Haakon skiing at Bittersweet today. The conditions weren’t great but they really wanted to go.  It had been several years since Hawk had been skiing so Will had to give him a mini lesson.  Fortunately, it wasn’t very crowded so they didn’t have to wait in lines at the chair lift and got quite a few runs in.

 

Boyne Mountain - Sky Bridge

On our final day, we purchased tickets to walk the new Sky Bridge which is the world's longest timer-towered suspension bridge.  Phil and I got to ride a chair lift up to the top and we met the boys by the bridge.  It was very cool.  You could definitely feel it swaying in the wind.  At one point, there is a glass floor so you can see the skiers below you.  After touring the bridge, the boys skied some more, and we got a table at the Eagles Nest restaurant on top of the hill.  The boys joined us after a while, and we had lunch before heading back down the hill.  

Boyne Mountain - Avalanche Bay Water Park

We also gave the boys tickets to the Avalanche Bay water park one night.  There were a lot of great water slides and a surfing simulator.  It was a fun way to spend the evening.

 

Boyne Mountain - Skiing

For Christmas, we gave the boys two nights/three days at Boyne Mountain Resort. The boys had so much fun skiing.  They skied all three days and explored runs all over the mountain.  The new 8 person high speed lift was open and they also really liked the 6 person high speed lift.  Thank you again to Grandma for the new skis!
