Summer 2023 - Week 2

This week was filled with golf league, baseball practices, summer hockey practices, cherry picking, and trips to the pool.  The Wild had a baseball tournament in Michigan City.  They won their games on Friday night and Saturday morning.  They were winning their game on Sunday morning which would have put them in the semi finals but a storm came through at the tournament was cancelled.  Alex had a hockey team pool party at a teammate’s house.  

 

Big Rapids Baseball Tournament - Runners Up

The Muskies were in Big Rapids this weekend for their final tournament.  The coach had family with a cottage on a lake near the tournament so they drove all the boys up Friday night for a weekend of fun.  In between games they did some fishing, swimming, went out for ice cream, played whiffle ball, etc.  They played well all weekend and made it to the championship game.  Unfortunately, they finished as runners-up but still had an amazing weekend.

 

Summer 2023 - Week 1

We managed to fit in quite a bit of summer fun even though Will was in DC for a good portion of the week.  Will had his first day of golf league on Monday, his first two high school summer hockey practices, and his first gym workout.  Alex had archery at the Dome and also set up the slip ‘n slide with his neighborhood friends.  We also went strawberry picking and had Will’s first hockey team party.  

 

8th Grade Trip - Monuments - Day 3

Their final afternoom was spent exploring more sculptures and memorials: Einstein, Vietnam Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Korean Memorial, WWII Memorial.

 

8th Grade Trip - Capitol Building and Supreme Court - Day 3

They started their day at the US Capitol Building, the Library of Congress, and the Supreme Court.  Their schedule said they were only going to be able to walk around the grounds, however, they were ahead of schedule and were able to go in the Capitol and take an audio tour.
