Camp Drop-off

We dropped the boys off for camp today.  We started at Camp Wakeshma where Will is in a 12 person cabin.  8 of the kids are his good friends from PC.  The other 4 are from Mattawan and Will knows them from hockey and even played on the same team with two of them.  Then we went to Bair Lake to drop off Alex.  He has one school friend in his cabin.  He was super excited to meet his counselors, take his swimming test, and get settled in.  They are both going to have so much fun this week!

Summer 2023 - Week 7

Week 7 of summer (before we left for St. Louis) was filled with sorting hockey gear, sleepovers, and saying goodbye to neighbors that are moving to Minnesota.  

 

Quick Trip to St. Louis

The main purpose of our trip to St. Louis was to see a baseball game but did get to explore a bit.  We saw the St. Louis Wheel which was right across the street from our hotel and their soccer stadium.  We took a riverboat ride on the Mississippi and also took the tram up to the top of the arch.  On our way home, we stopped at the confluence of the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers.

Stadium #13 - Busch Stadium

We can check our 13th ballpark off the list:  Busch Stadium.  We got to see a very exciting game between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Cubs.  The Cubs were winning 3-2 in the bottom of the 9th.  The Cardinals had two outs and a runner on second.  The Cardinal batter hit what we thought was a game winning home run.  But the Cubs’ center fielder made an amazing leaping catch for the third out.  The stadium and surrounding Ballpark Village were really nice.  It was 100 degrees (felt like 111) at game time - that was our only complaint.
