6th Grade Band Concert

Today was Alex’s first 6th grade band concert.  They did such a great job.  It was so nice to hear all the instruments come together.  

 

Christmas Time

 Due to Alex’s hockey tournament, we weren’t able to go to Hart’s Tree Farm like we usually do to get our tree.  Instead, we found a local tree farm that was open before Thanksgiving.  We went and found our tree on Monday after school but didn’t decorate it until we got back into town on Sunday night.  

Chicago Thanksgiving Classic

It was Alex's turn to have a hockey tournament in Chicago. We drove down on Friday for their first of 4 games. They beat the Hoffmann Estates Wolf Pack 8-1 and Alex scored a goal. On Saturday morning, they lost to Belle Tire 7-1. They kept it close through 2 periods but then the wheels came off in the third. The Belle Tire team was made of kids that were a year older than our boys. On Saturday afternoon, they lost to the South Bend Irish Rovers 3-2. Unfortunately, that loss landed us in the consolation game on Sunday morning rather than the championship. The boys had to play Hoffmann Estates again and won 4-1. They went 2-2 on the weekend and had lots of fun at team meals and hanging out at the hotel.

 

Go Blue!

Phil and Will went to Ann Arbor for THE Game today. It was cold but at least the sun was shining. They saw ESPN game day, got bagel sandwiches and hung out at the Union, watched the step show, and saw an amazing game. Go Blue!

 

Happy Thanksgiving!

We spent a fun Thanksgiving day at the Grant’s.  We watched the Lion’s game, did crafts, the kids played video games, Alex, Emma, and Will put on a concert, and we visited with Uncle Andrew.  Plus we had a delicious meal!  We drove home after dinner so Alex and I could get ready for his tournament in Chicago.

 

Top Golf

On Wednesday, we drove to Detroit for Thanksgiving.  Grann gave the boys (and us!) their Hanukkah gift which was an afternoon at Top Golf.  We started with an hour lesson and then had two hours to play the games in one of the third floor bays.  It was so much fun!

 

Fall Formal - PC in Wonderland

Portage Central had their fall formal on Saturday night. Will had a hockey game in Traverse City at 12:30, so we left at 8am and got home at 5:30. Will had 30 minutes to shower before his friends came over for dinner and to hang out a bit before the dance. They boys looked so nice and had a great time.
