Happy New Year!

We celebrated New Year’s Eve with the 4th annual Family Game Night.  We played ping pong, shuffle board, Mario cart, foosball, dome hockey, darts, and marbles.  Phil was the ultimate winner this year.  

 

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! The boys woke us up at 6:45 and we started the day with cinnamon rolls, bacon, coffee, and hot chocolate.  The boys were excited to see all the gifts under the tree.  We started with stockings (even Winger) and then moved on to the gifts under the tree. We are taking the boys to Boyne again (fingers crossed for snow).  Will got a TV for his room and Alex received a human dog bed.  Grandma came down for a bit in the afternoon and we finished up the day playing one of our new games (Ticket to Ride - Rails and Sails) and watching the Grinch.  

 

Christmas Eve

We spent a fun Christmas Eve in Grand Rapids with a Lions victory, delicious food, fun games, and gifts.  

 

Candy Cane Lane

We went downtown tonight to walk through Candy Cane Lane and see Santa.  We made stops at Bell’s, Benny’s Pizza for giant slices, and the Radisson to see the gingerbread houses (and ride the escalators).  On our way home, we drove through some neighborhoods to look and Christmas lights and then the boys did their traditional candy cane hunt.  

 

Hockey Parties

The boys both had their team holiday parties this week. On Saturday, Will’s team (and their families) came over to our house for a team dinner.  Then on Thursday, Alex’s team had a scrimmage at Wings West (with Santa on the ice) and we had a team dinner at Burdick’s afterwards.
