WMU Shovel Crew
Alex’s team had the opportunity to be part of the shoveling crew at the WMU Bronco hockey game. They hung out near the Zamboni and then went out to shovel the snow that forms a few times each period. We all had tickets to the game. It was Western Hockey’s 50th Anniversary Reunion/Celebration. Between periods, hockey alumni came out on the ice. Danny DeKeyser (former Red Wing) and Pete Wilkinson (Will’s coach) were both there.

Driver’s Training
Will started driver’s training last week. He had completed 3/12 virtual classes so he was able to do his first drive today. The instructor said he did a great job.

Trip to Boyne
We had a fun 3 days at Boyne Mountain Resort despite the warm weather we’ve been having. We lucked out that temperatures dropped before we left and they were able to make snow for 36 hours. There was a base of 15” and 10 runs were open. The boys spent the majority of Tuesday afternoon skiing. They stopped for dinner and birthday cake and then went back out for night skiing. Alex came in a bit early to go in the heated outdoor pool and hot tub. Phil and I hiked up the back of the mountain and were able to see them ski. On Wednesday, we slept in a little and the boys started skiing around 9:45. Phil and I walked up to the top again and then met the boys for lunch. In the afternoon, we went to the water park for a few hours and then the boys skied some more. On Thursday, the crowds started to pick up. The boys skied for a bit but the lift lines got really long so we wrapped things up around lunch.

Birthday Fun
Grann came to visit last week and brought Alex's birthday gift: a 3D archery target. It’s perfect for practicing in the basement. Alex also had some birthday fun before we drove up to Boyne. His door was decorated and he had a Sweetwater donut, lotto tickets, and gifts. After dinner, we had birthday cake in the lodge.
