Will power washed her neighbor’s garage and Alex did the furniture. Will also rescued a turtle that was walking down the road. Alex had his last Muskies game Wednesday night followed by a team cookout at the fields. On Thursday, the Rebels played at WMU. Grandma came to the game but unfortunately, they didn’t get a win. On Friday, they played again in the morning at Mattawan High School and won. On Friday night, Phil and I went out to dinner at Bird Dog with friends. We left the four kids at home with pizza- they were much happier with that. Unfortunately, baseball was rained out on Saturday but Phil and I went downtown for the Ben Folds concert at the State Theater. The Rebels played again Sunday and won but unfortunately, didn’t advance to bracket play due to their loss on Thursday. Will went to a friend’s lake house for the day and Phil and Alex went disc golfing while I got some things done around the house.

Summer 2024 - Week 3
Our third week of summer was busy! Alex had a friend over for a sleepover on Sunday night and they had the pool to themselves. On Monday night, I had a KOHA board meeting at Wings West and saw the rinks without any ice. Then we went to a friend’s house to watch the Stanley Cup finals. Tuesday was full of appointments. On Wednesday, we went to Grand Rapids to help Grandma clean her garage. We took everything out, threw away a lot of stuff, and gave it a good cleaning.

Summer 2024 - Week 2
Phil and I left for Traverse City on Monday morning and grandma came down to stay with the boys. We spent two nights at the Grand Traverse Resort and enjoyed a hot few days in TC. We started the day walking around Boardman Lake and then had lunch at Little Fleet and walked up and down Front Street. Then we walked over to the Commons and had dinner at Mama Lou’s. We walked the grounds at the hotel before calling it a night. On Tuesday, we walked around the hotel and surrounding neighborhoods and then drove to the top of Old Mission peninsula. We walked some of the trails and then went to town for lunch. Next we visited our property and walked around Sutton’s Bay. We stopped at Hop Lot and then went to an amazing dinner at Boat House. We had the best table in the restaurant. On Wednesday, we hit up a few more shops and then grabbed lunch at Spanglish before heading home. While we were gone, Alex had All Star practice Monday night. On Tuesday and Wednesday, Will volunteered at the PC Baseball camp. Alex had a game Tuesday night and Will had practice. We made it back in time on Wednesday to take Alex to his All Star practice. The rest of the week was full of baseball and swimming.
Baseball in Kalamazoo
The boys both had tournaments in Kalamazoo this weekend. Will’s started on Thursday morning at Hackett High School. They won one and lost one. They played again on Friday morning and lost 6-5 in a game that was really fun to watch. On Saturday, the Muskies played in the morning and lost 5-8 but played really well. They lost 7-8 on Saturday afternoon in another well played game: after the games, we went to Coach Toennessen’s for a pool party. The Rebels also played Saturday afternoon and won 10-1 but finished second in their pool and didn’t advance. The Muskies played in the consolation game Sunday morning and won 12-3.

Muskies in Big Rapids
The Muskies had a fun weekend in Big Rapids. After their 50/70 game on Thursday night, they had pizza at the ball field. Then they loaded up in the van and went to the McNally lake house in Big Rapids. They spent all day at the lake swimming, fishing, kayaking, and playing whiffle ball. On Saturday, they had two games and then kids and parents went back to the lake for dinner. Alex decided that two nights sleeping on a cot were enough so he went back to the hotel with me for the night. Unfortunately, they didn’t win their game Sunday morning so they were done. While we were gone, Will volunteered at WPLL.
Summer 2024 - Week 1
Although Will still had to finish up exams, we did have some fun during the first week of summer. We played games on the porch, went strawberry picking (and made ice cream), and went to the pool. We also were entertained by the squirrels hanging upside down from the tree in the front yard.

That's a wrap on 6th and 9th! Although, Will has to take make-up exams next week due to his concussion. He’s feeling much better and was able to take his 7th hour exam this morning.
