Underclassman Achievement Awards - Sophomore Year

Today was the Underclassman Achievement Awards ceremony at Portage Central.  Will was received a gold award for having a GPA over 3.9 and also for completing 50+ hours of community service.  We're so proud of him!

Birthday Fun with Grann

Grann came to visit to celebrate Will's 16th birthday. On Friday, we ordered in pizza, played UNO, and Will opened his presents. Saturday was full of baseball for both boys and then we went to Sakura for hibachi dinner.  The restaurant sang Happy Birthday to Will and let him bang the gong.  We stopped at Y'OPA on the way home for dessert even though we were all pretty stuffed.  On Sunday, Alex had an early baseball game and Grann dropped Will at Wings West on her way out of town so he could ref three games.

 

Happy Easter

We had a really nice Easter brunch on Sunday. The weather cooperated and the boys were able to play pickleball and we had an early 16th birthday celebration for Will.  

 

Portage Central JV Blue vs Lakeshore

JV Blue played a double header against Lakeshore today. Will started in the first game and played first base. He had a nice double his first at bat. PC won both games 14-2 and 12-2.  One of the moms on the team took some great photos!

Solo & Ensemble Festival 2025

Alex participated in his first Solo & Ensemble Festival at Gull Lake Middle School today.  He was doing a solo piece called "Spica" and had to work with a piano accompanist.  He did such a great job and received an overall score of "1" which was the highest score he could get.  The judge gave some nice feedback after his performance.
