Happy Halloween!
The boys had a half day of school day so we were able to carve pumpkins in the afternoon. Then Alex went over to a friend's house in the neighborhood for pizza before heading out for trick-or-treating. Will went to the first PC playoff football game (they won!). Phil and I stayed home and handed out candy. It was a quiet night with only a little over 100 trick-or-treaters. We think the football game had something to do with that. I think we had our last visitor at 7:30pm.

National Honor Society Induction Ceremony
Will was inducted into the Portage Central chapter of National Honor Society tonight. There were 275 eligible juniors and seniors that were invited to apply. 165 students started their applications and 55 were accepted. It is quite an accomplishment! The ceremony was held at the high school in the auditorium (which was also set up for the play "Alice by Heart"). Each returning senior introduced the new members and detailed why they are a good addition to NHS.

Gull Meadow Farm
After Alex’s hockey game, we went to Gull Meadow Farms. They had a fun corn maze celebrating the WMU hockey team. After the maze, we got cider and donuts and then did the activities in the Back Forty. The boys shot the apple cannons and paint ball guns, played barnyard baseball/football/basketball, we looked at the animals, and finished up with a duck race. It was a beautiful fall day and we were glad we could squeeze in a visit to GMF.
Apple Picking
We went to Schultz’s this morning before Alex’s hockey game to go apple picking and to get our pumpkins for Halloween.

U of M Campus Visit
Will and I went to Ann Arbor today for an official campus visit. The tour was 75 minutes and took us through the Union, West Quad, the Law Quad and library, the Diag and Chemistry building. Although Will had seen most of those places before, it was nice to learn a bit about the admissions process, housing selection, etc. We had lunch at Brown Jug and then walked through Ross Business School.
