Where's Waldo Kalamazoo? - Part 1

27 local businesses in Kalamazoo are participating in a Where's Waldo event. Each store has a 6" cutout of Waldo hidden somewhere inside. You can pick up a "passport" at any participating business and when you find Waldo, you get a stamp/sticker. If you can find him in 10 stores, you get a coupon and a button from BookBug Bookstore. If you can find 20, you get the coupon and button and are also entered in a "grand prize drawing." We went hunting with the boys on Saturday and found 14 Waldos. It was fun to visit some new stores (as well as some old favorites) in the area. We are going to try to find another 6 this week!

Up North Fun

On Wednesday afternoon, the boys and I drove to Grand Rapids for the night. Then we went up to the cottage with Grandma and Grandpa to celebrate Aunt Mara's birthday. The boys were so excited to go fishing on the pontoon boat!

Happy 4th of July!

On the 4th of July, we went to East Grand Rapids for all the holiday festivities. We parked at the Hofmeyer's house and walked up to the parade. Then we went to Reed's Lake for the bounce houses, balloon animals, and water skiing. We stopped at Jersey Junction on the way back to the Hofmeyer's for ice cream. Then went up to Rockford to walk around the spillway and have dinner at Ramona's Table. Finally, we ended the night with fireworks behind the EGR library. It was a fun and busy day!

Pirates Game

On Saturday, we took a break from the mountain fun and went into Pittsburgh for the Pirates game so we could check off another stadium on our list. We got into town a few hours before the game, so we walked out to Point State Park to see where the three rivers met up. Then we walked to Primanti Brothers to try one of their famous sandwiches with french fries on it. Then we went to the stadium to explore and the kids chose their little bat souvenirs. We had a beautiful view from our seats - too bad the Pirates lost.
