Gull Meadow Farms

We had a hockey free Sunday and fall temperatures so we decided to go to Gull Meadow Farms for the afternoon. We played "Guess My Pumpkin," "Guess My Apple," barnyard baseball, barnyard football, giant corn hole, completed the corn maze (we found all the hidden hole punches which earned us each a free donut), and walked through the petting zoo. We also did the apple cannons and Alex did the jump pillow. It was a fun way to spend an afternoon.

Go Blue!

We went to Ann Arbor today for the season opener. We wandered campus, went to MDen, had lunch at Pizza House, made a pit stop at Dominick's and saw the band heading to the stadium. There were two parachutists before the game started and a flyover. Night games are always so much fun - especially with the new light system. It was a closer game than we thought but we were happy with the 30-10 win.

Summer 2024 - Week 11

On Monday, we had a few appointments and also started to get the house ready for Uncle Andrew's visit. Will had hockey practice Monday night and I was up at Wings West for a KOHA board meeting. On Tuesday morning, we had a few more appointments before picking Andrew up from the airport. Both boys had their open houses this week so we were able to walk their schedules, see their classrooms, and get into their lockers. On Friday, Alex went to a birthday sleepover at a friend's house. Phil and Andrew drove to MSU for their traditional walk through campus before heading to Detroit. Will and I left for Chelsea for his first hockey tournament of the season. We went out to a nice steakhouse with another family after the game. On Saturday, we walked around campus a bit in between games and got lunch at Ashleys. After his second game on Saturday, I dropped him at the hotel and drove back to Kalamazoo. Phil and Andrew were at the Ren Fest on Saturday and then Phil went out for a birthday dinner with Grann. Then we went to the hotel and stayed for Will's Sunday game. On Sunday, Alex's team rented out Lawson for a family scrimmage. Now we are getting ready to go back to school tomorrow!

Fun with Uncle Andrew

We picked up Andrew from the airport just before lunch on Tuesday. After getting settled at the house, the boys made up a new game combining disc golf and basketball and played for quite a while in the driveway. After Phil got home, we ran to PCMS for Alex's open house and then came back to the house for dinner and ultimate frisbee with the light up disc. On Wednesday, we played more yard games in the morning. After lunch, we went to the Nature Center. We walked the trails, played tic-tac-toe in the gravel pits, and visited Nature's Playground. At 6:30, we ran to PCHS for Will's open house. Alex and Andrew played 9 holes of disc golf at the middle school course while we walked Will's schedule and picked up his athletic pass. Then we went to dinner at Bell's. On Thursday, we went to WMU to play disc golf in the afternoon. I took Will to hockey practice and then there was a game of whiffle ball in the back yard.

Summer 2024 - Week 10

Most of Week 10 of Summer was spent up north but we did manage to fit in a few things early in the week. On Monday, Alex had an orthodontist appointment, we went out to lunch, and did his back to school shopping. On Tuesday, Will had hiss first 16U Split Season team practice at Wings West. On Wednesday morning, Will volunteered for the NHL Street event that was being hosted by the KWings team. It was at the local YMCA and they helped run drills and referee the scrimmage.  Today, Will had his first 16U game against Michiana.  They lost the game but Will's friend/former teammate was on the team.  We all went out to dinner after and now Haakon is staying the night.
