Candy Cane Lane
We had a free Sunday so we decided to go downtown. To walk the mall and see Candy Cane Lane. We did a little shopping and then walked through the Radisson. Then we went to Bell’s and sat upstairs and played a few card games. We had giant pizza at Benny DiCarta’s and then walked through Bronson Park.

Jazz Band - Barnes & Noble Book Fair
On Friday night, the middle school Jazz Band performed at Barnes and Noble. They had two shows: one at 6:30 and on at 7:30. The Jazz Band formed in early fall and started practicing once a week starting in October - so they only met 9 times as a group. It is made up of students from West Middle School and Central Middle School. The kids from CMS take a bus over to WMS for practice on Wednesdays.

8th Grade Band Concert
Alex had his 8th grade band concert tonight. The first three songs were repeats from their concert at WMU but the final song was a fun holiday piece. They did a great job as usual!

Christmas Tree Day 2025
On Friday morning, we met our friends at Hart's Tree Farm. This year, the deGoa family decided to join us. The Fraser firs were a little shorter than usual but we still found a great tree. After loading it into our car, we drove to Rockford and were first in line at the Corner Bar which was great since we needed a table for 19 (we split into a kids table and an adult table). The kids all talk about cutting down the tree and having lunch with everyone as one of their favorite holiday traditions and they all talk and have friended each other on social media. When we got home, we got the tree set up. Phil and Alex went to the KWings game to participate in a team fundraiser for Alex's hockey team. Will and I stayed home to get the lights on the tree. When they got home from the game we decorated.

Happy Thanksgiving!
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving in Detroit. We drove over in the morning and spent a few hours at Grann's new apartment. The boys played some board games and watched the Lion's game and we walked Cole to the dog park. Then we drove over to the Grant's (with a quick pitstop to say hello to Uncle Andrew) for Thanksgiving dinner. There were 18 people at dinner and an amazing spread. After dinner, we were entertained with a great magic show. Unfortunately, those were the only pictures we took!

Mustang Shootout
Alex participated in the Mustang Shootout at PCMS this morning. He had a rough start - his bow had been readjusted and it took him a couple rounds to figure out where he needed to aim. But he finished with a 254. He had one arrow that scored a zero (hit the white). If that had hit a 6 or better it would have given him a personal best! We think contacts are helping his aim.
