We had a wonderful Easter weekend. On Friday, we went into Gaslight and had pizza at Big Bob's. They were out of high chairs, so Will sat in a big boy chair and did a great job. He nibbled on popcorn while we were waiting for our pizza and then gobbled up his slice. On Saturday, we went for a walk and then went to Gymboree. After lunch, we played outside for a while. During naptime, we were able to distribute 5 yards of mulch and put together "Fort William" which is a climber/slide that we are giving Will for his birthday.
Sunday morning, Will woke up and came into our room. We sent him to the bathroom to get his stool so he could turn our light on. He came sprinting back holding an Easter egg above his head, shaking it, crying "egg, egg, egg." He dropped it in his Easter basket, went back for his stool, found another egg, and had the same reaction. He was so excited to find the first few eggs. Unfortunately, we didn't capture those on video but we do have him hunting for some below. He lost interest about 3/4 of the way through but got back into it once he realized there was candy! We went over the Hofmeyer's for brunch and the Easter bunny had left eggs there as well.
We spent the rest of the day outside enjoying the weather!
Will has started "singing" songs lately. He recites several from Gymboree (welcome song, popcorn-popcorn), a bunch from Kindermusik, as well as Ring Around the Rosy, It's Raining It's Pouring, and his ABCs.
Phil was out of town this weekend, so William and I were on our own. I actually had the day off on Friday so we had a nice long weekend. On Friday morning, we went to Meijer for some major grocery shopping. Once the rain stopped, we were able to play outside for a while before nap. Then we met Grandma and Grandpa (no longer Ahma and Ahpa) for dinner. Then Aunt Katie came over to play for a bit and work on Will's birthday cake after he went to bed. On Saturday, we ran a couple quick errands in the morning and then spent almost 2 hours at the playground. We ran into two friends from high school with their kids which made the outing even more fun. After lunch, Will helped me with some yard work (he's great at putting leaves in the bags) and then went down for a long nap. Then we went to our friends house for a pizza party. There were four little ones there and they had fun sitting at the kid-sized picnic table, playing t-ball, and sneaking bunny cookies off the counter.On Sunday morning, we walked into town to grab Starbucks and pick up a few items we forgot at the grocery store. Daddy got home around 11 and we walked back up to Gaslight to have lunch before stopping at the playground again. After nap, we tried out Will's new bike that Aaron and Sammy gave him.
Will is almost fully recovered from his cold and ear infection. He will still be on antibiotics for the next 5 days, but his energy has returned and his appetite is almost back to normal. We went to Detroit this weekend to visit Grann. Will had a great time playing with all the fun toys at Grann's and chasing the dogs around. We too him to the mall on Saturday morning to ride the escalators and elevators and to burn off some energy. On Sunday, we went to Jungle Java to play. Will did a great job sleeping in the twin bed with side rails - he looked so tiny in such a big boy bed, but he slept through the night.
