On Friday, the boys participated in the KOHA 3x3 holiday tournament. Will's Bronco team put together two teams for the tournament and Alex was asked to play by his coach. Will's team ended up playing a bunch of elite travel teams including one of the best 10U teams from Illinois. They didn't win any games but still seemed to have a good time. We went out with the other families afterward and the kids were all in good spirits - they all just like spending time together! Alex's team was the only 6U team in the tournament (last year there were several). They played against some 8U travel teams and although they didn't win, they did hold their own. Alex scored a goal in one game and was happy about that.

Merry Christmas
We had some excited boys on Christmas morning. Will was up early but didn't get us all out of bed until 6:30. Then we all went downstairs together. Our stockings were overflowing and there were a lot of gifts under the tree. The boys took it all in while we made coffee, cinnamon rolls, and bacon. Then we all started with our stockings. The boys loved the stuffed guinea pigs that Santa brought them - they look so real! They also were excited to get tie-dye Moorsbridge shirts, books, NHL stickers/sticker book, and mini Lego sets. Santa was very generous this year. He brought the boys a game (Will), Poke-mon cards (Alex), Legos, and a Ping-Pong table which will be fun for the whole family. The boys also received framed CTA maps (they are obsessed with the El in Chicago), more games, and new rolling hockey bags from us. We took our time and opened one gift at a time. We also paused to play with everything as we opened it so we didn't finish until 11:30 or so.
In the afternoon, Grandma and Grandpa came down for a few hours. We opened more gifts, had some crepes, played Ping-Pong, and the boys and Grandpa were able to play with the trains. In the evening, we watched Home Alone 2.

Christmas Eve
We had a fun Christmas Eve celebration in Grand Rapids with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Mara, Uncle Ken, Katie, and Will. We had a delicious spread (as usual) and did our gift exchange. We also played a few games and watched "A Charlie Brown Christmas." When we got home, the boys put out their cookies for Santa before calling it a night.

Alex's Holiday Party
Alex had his holiday party today. His class rotated through several stations: games, plush snowmen, ornaments, and stacking trees. Then they had a fun treat and listened to a story. We are all ready for winter break!
Will's Holiday Party
Will's class party was today and they had fun rotating through a few stations. They made some ornaments, played a funny whipped cream/cotton ball game, and had a fun breakfast.
Griffins Game
After Alex's jamboree, Phil and the boys met the Lanes for dinner and they all went to the Griffins game together. It was an exciting game - the Griffins won in a shoot out.
