Annual Chicago Trip

After going to the top of the Hancock building, we had lunch in Water Tower and went to the Lego Store and a few other places. Then we picked up the boys' skates at the hotel and went to the skating ribbon. We ran into another KOHA family which was fun. After skating, we stopped for some hot chocolate and then went to dinner at the Walnut Room. The set-up was a little different than in previous years, but the tree was still beautiful! They even took some complimentary photos of us and we ended up with 4 Walnut Room mugs. After dinner, the boys went for their traditional train ride before calling it a night.

On Saturday, we had breakfast at the hotel and had a very rainy walk to Millennium Station. We took the train to the Museum of Science and Industry and were all pretty wet by the time we arrived. We decided to see the Oceans movie in the Omnimax and also did the Science of Pixar exhibit. The boys spent a lot of time in the water room, watching the model trains, and playing in the weather area. The Science of Pixar was very cool - there were interactive displays showing the different stages of computer animation. We got to use the touch screens to change the way the animation looked on the screen. We also spent quite a bit of time watching the pinball machine/marble run. After the museum, we went to Eataly for dinner which was delicious. We were all pretty tired after dinner, and it was still raining, so we decided not to go to Zoo Lights.
