Bair Lake Drop-Off

On Sunday, we dropped Will off for his week at Bair Lake. He took his swimming test, set up his bunk, and sent us on our way. On Monday morning, I took Alex down for his first day of Day Camp. When I went to pick Alex up, I saw Will heading to the pool and got a big smile and a wave. Alex told me all about his day: carpet ball, songs, zip line, lunch, pool, snack, gaga and more carpet ball.

More Pictures from the Tigers Game

Here are a few more pictures from the Wild's trip to the Comerica Park.

3rd Annual Kids' Day

On Saturday, we celebrated our 3rd Annual Kids' Day. We typically celebrate this on the third Sunday in July, however, we were at the Tiger's game so we had to delay festivities. We started the day at Airway Lanes where the boys did the ropes course, we had lunch, went bowling, played mini golf, and did some arcade games. Then we went to the pool for a while in the afternoon before heading to One Well for dinner. The boys played pinball and other games while there. We ended the night with ice cream cones at home and the boys slept in Alex's room.

Where's Waldo?

We participated in the Book Bug's Where's Waldo program again. We hunted for Waldo all over town during the month of July: Book Bug, Treat Street, Water Street Coffee, Sewall's Health Food, Nonla Burger, Fido Motor's Cafe, Little Sprout, Lee's Adventure Sports, Pedal, Zoo City Cycle, Kelvin's BBQ, Arcadia, Rocket Fizz, Satellite Records, Read and Write Kalamazoo, Green Light Records, Confections with Convictions, Vandersalm's Florist, Spirit of Kalamazoo, Sweetwater's Donut Mill, Gale's True Value, and Fanfare. Today was the party at Book Bug. The boys did another scavenger hunt, met Waldo, had a few treats, and won some prizes.

Quick EGR Visit

The boys and I were in Grand Rapids for the night on Thursday so I could meet some friends for the Picnic Pops. On Friday, we stopped at the Hofmeyers for a quick visit (Aunt Katie was in town) and then went into town for lunch. After hot dogs at Crazy Charley's, we threw pennies in the fountain and went for a walk on the boardwalk. We miss downtown EGR!

The Wild at the Tigers

Today we drove to Detroit for a Tigers game with the rest of the Wild players and their families. We were the "Team of the Game" so we had a few special perks. The team was supposed to go down on the field before the game for a photo opp, however, due to the rainy weather they had to take their picture by the dugout. They were still announced after the first inning and the boys were shown up on the score board. At the end of the game, all the kids at the game were able to run the bases. The game was delayed about 1.5 hours due to the weather but we enjoyed the game once it started. The rainy weather fit in with the rest of the Wild season - we had a lot of wet weekends. The boys had fun exploring the stadium, threw some pitches in the cage, and had their picture taken with Paws.
