First Day of School

First day of middle school and high school for these two.  We hope you have a great year!

 

Summer 2023 - Week 11

We finished summer break strong.  After their orientations on Monday, we went to Airway for pizza and bowling in their VIP suite lanes.  Then we went next door to do the Scooby Doo escape room.  We went to the pool two more times and Will had friends over for a sleepover.  On Friday, Will went to the first PCHS football (and sat in the high school student section) and the rest of us went to One Well for dinner and games.  We spent Saturday cleaning the house and getting ready for back to school.  We spent Sunday outside: bike rides, fire pit, we took down the garden, and lots of yard games.  

 

CMS and PCHS Orientation and Open Houses

We had a busy and exciting start to the week.  Both boys had orientation on Monday morning.  Will went to the the high school at 8am and had small group meetings, yours, etc.  Then parents arrived at 11 for a meeting with the principal and the Code of Conduct meeting for students that will participate in school activities or sports.  Alex went to his orientation at 10am and then the parent meeting was at 12:15.  While Will was waiting for us to finish, he went to Parker to get his athletic pass, but a shirt in the spirit shop,  and walk his schedule.  We went out for a late lunch afterwards.  

On Tuesday night, Alex had his open house.  He set up his locker and practiced walking his schedule.  He was also able to meet all his teachers.  Will tagged along to see some of his teachers from previous years. 

On Wednesday night, we went to the high school open house.  Will showed us his locker and we walked his schedule and met his teachers.  They also had an ice cream truck and various clubs and organizations had their booths set up.  

They are ready for Monday!

Summer 2023 - Week 10

On Monday night, Will and I went out to dinner and back to school shopping.  The boys played a lot of wiffle ball under the lights this week.  They have a pretty fun set-up.  On Sunday, we took advantage of the 90 degree day and went to Arvesta Farms.

We always have so much fun when Uncle Andrew comes to visit:  basement games, downtown Kalamazoo scavenger hunt, dinner at Bell’s, Nature Center, lunch at Tap House, sky chairs, hammocks, fire pits, Alligator Sanctuary, trumpet leasons, and disc golf.
