Gasoline Alley 12U Polar Division Champions

Alex and I were in Indianapolis this weekend for his final tournament of the season.  They played their first game on Friday night against a team from Columbus, OH and won 9-1. After the game, we had a fun pasta dinner in the hotel lobby.  On Saturday morning, the boys played the Miami Jr. Redhawks (also from Ohio) and won 7-1.  After that game, Alex and I went to the mall and Barnes and Noble before grabbing lunch at Shake Shack.  They played a team from Northern Kentucky on Saturday afternoon and won 6-1 which sent them to the Championship game Sunday morning.  Saturday night we had a nice team dinner at a local restaurant/brewery.  On Sunday morning, the boys faced their toughest competition but won 4-3.  We were so happy for them!

 

Saint Louis Presidents Day Tournament

Phil and Will were in Saint Louis this weekend for Will’s last tournament.  They lost in the semi finals but had a fun weekend full of hockey, team meals, trips to the mall, and hanging at the hotel. 

 

Howell 3D Tournament

Alex and I drove to Howell this weekend for the 3D archery tournament.  The Portage Central Middle School team finished in third place!

 

Happy Valentine’s Day

Between school and hockey, we didn’t have much time for Valentine’s Day celebrations.  But we had a fun breakfast and heart shaped pizzas for dinner.

 

We Have a Driver

Will completed Segment 1 of Drivers' Training (24 hours of class, 6 hours of driving with an instructor, 4 hours of observation, and a written exam).  We went to the Secretary of State today and got his permit.  Now he needs to get 50 hours of driving in the next 6 months so he can take Segment 2 and his road test.  

 

MAHA District Tournament

Will had his MAHA district tournament in Muskegon this weekend. Unfortunately, they didn’t advance to the semi finals.  But the boys still had fun at team dinners and watching bonus hockey.  They also got to see some indoor hockey at LC Walker Arena which was attached to our hotel.  

 

PC Shootout

Alex competed in the PC Mustang Shootout this weekend.  He had 3D targets on Friday night (shot a 236) and bullseye targets on Saturday morning (shot a 256).  His score of 256 tied him for first place in PCMS 6th grade boys.  He finished 8th out of 60 for all middle school boys.
