We left Breckenridge around 10am on Friday. We got into Denver around 11:30 and walked to Coors Field. They opened the gates at noon so we were able to spend two hours walking around the stadium, watching batting practice, and getting the boys' mini bats. It was a really neat stadium - very different from Kauffman! It was so cold - 37 degrees and snowing. It tied for the second coldest home opener in Rockies history. We only stayed for the first inning - in part because of the weather but also because we were planning to drive through the night to get home. The Rockies ended up losing in extra innings.

The fountain in the outfield and bullpens were so pretty
On our third day, Alex decided to hang with us and Will wanted to try some more adventurous runs. The trails were all groomed so they were moving faster than on Tuesday. We found some fun greens that took us through some trees and Alex did some jumps in the terrain park. Will cautiously skied a double black. He managed to ski all five of their peaks. It was the last day of skiing for the adults, but the kids were given free passes from our instructor so they still had one more day. We went into town again and had great pizza at Giampietros.
The conditions were significantly different when we woke up on Tuesday. It was cooler and was snowing. There was 6-10” of fresh powder. The boys went off by themselves in the morning and we made plans to meet at Ten Mile Station (top of Quick Silver lift) for lunch. Phil and I started on a green run but it was pretty slow due to the powder. So we took the Beaver Run lift up to Peak 9 to try some blue runs. It was so pretty with all the snow. We did Cashier run twice before meeting the boys. They had ventured to several other peaks and got a lot of runs in. After lunch, Alex stayed with us and Will went off on his own. We took the Peak 8 Super Connect to the top of Peak 8 where we took a blue run down that connected back to a green. Our legs and arms were getting tired so the three of us called it a day and went to the hot tubs and sauna. Will stayed out until the lifts shut down at 4. We walked into town to do some souvenir shopping and had dinner at Mi Casa.
