Raccoon Run
On Saturday morning, we went to the Kalamazoo Nature Center so the boys could run in their annual Raccoon Race. It was a 1k (0.6 miles) on the Habitat Haven trail. The boys did such a good job! They arranged the kids by age group so William was near the front and Alex was in the middle. They both took off running and were darting around people. Then we walked around the indoor exhibits before hiking another trail so the boys could get another medallion for their walking sticks.

Down on the Farm
I took Wednesday morning off work, and went with Alex to a miniature horse farm for his school field trip. The kids were able to feed the horses, brush them, and go for carriage rides. They also saw llamas and goats!

Great Wolf Lodge
On Thursday morning, we hit the road for Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City. We had such a good time! We stopped at Bud's in Interlochen for lunch and drove by the Hofmeyer's cottage quickly so see what it looked like in the snow. We got to the lodge at 12:30. Although our room wasn't quite ready, we were able to get into the water park right away. The boys were in the water from about 12:45 - 6:45. They loved the water slides, the fort, and the lazy river! Alex wasn't tall enough to do the tube slides, but William was able to go with an adult. We quickly changed and then met our friends for pizza and ice cream at the shops in the lodge. Then we activated the boys Magi Quest wands and went questing until 10pm. The boys enjoyed watching a little tv in their "Kid Camp" before falling asleep.
On Friday morning, the boys were up by 7am. We put on our suits and had donuts in the lobby. At 8:30, we were able to do some more questing while we waited for the water park to open at 10am. We were in line right at 10 and spent almost 9 more hours playing! William finally was brave enough to stand under the giant bucket that spilled 1000 gallons of water every 5 minutes. Alex started swimming under water a little bit. We got on the road around 7pm and stopped for a quick dinner. Needless to say, both boys slept on the way home!

Spring Break Fun
We made the most of our cold and snowy spring break stay-cation. William had a half day of school on Thursday, and spent the afternoon playing at a friend's house and going to Sky Zone. Alex and I played and sat out on the porch to watch the rain (before the temperature shifted). On Friday, we all met some friends at Bounceland and then went out to lunch. On Saturday, we all went out for pizza for lunch and then went to Climb Kalamazoo for a few hours and on Sunday we went and saw Zootopia. On Monday morning, I drove the boys up to Grand Rapids to spend two nights with Grandma and Grandpa. Alex was able to finish his woodworking project with Uncle Ken, they walked the Calvin College Skywalk with Grandpa, and went to the Public Museum to see the robot zoo. I picked them up on Wednesday afternoon so we could get packed up for our trip to Great Wolf Lodge!
