Gull Meadow Farms

Alex had his first Curious Kids field trip today to Gull Meadow Farms - which meant he took his first ride on a school bus! We had a great time: we took a hay ride, went apple picking, had cider and donuts, went to the petting zoo, used the giant tube slides, and played in the hay maze.

Road Rally Fun Run

Today was the Moorsbridge Elementary PTO Road Rally to raise funds for the school. William ran 16 laps around the bus loop - a new personal record! Alex even got into the action later in the day when he ran with the 1st graders!

Gull Meadow Farms

The boys had a half day of school on Friday. They spent the afternoon playing in their pine tree fort with the neighbors. We ordered pizza for dinner and then William and I watched the second Harry Potter movie while Phil and Alex went to Hockey Services to get Alex his pads, gloves, and stick. We have read the first two Harry Potter books with the boys and they seem to enjoy them. William has enjoyed the first two movies but Alex has only watched bits and pieces. On Saturday, we spent most of the day getting ready for a cookout we were hosting for our friends and neighbors. We had about 50 people over (adults and kids) and enjoyed the beautiful fall weather. We had a TV set up in the garage to watch the Michigan game, the fire pit going, and lots of food! On Sunday, we went out to Gull Meadow Farms for a day of fall fun. We spent 4 hours there and the kids probably would have stayed longer if we let them.

Nashville!

Last Friday, I drove down to Nashville with some friends (from 5th grade!) for a girls' weekend. It was a quick trip but it was great to spend some time with everyone. We had some delicious meals, did some shopping, walked around Vanderbilt and checked out the country music scene.

Fall

Last week, William had his open house at school. He took us on the "Royal Tour" and introduced us to his teacher. On Sunday, we went to Schultz Farm to go apple picking and also got our first cider and donuts of the season.

Go Blue!

On Saturday morning, we drove to Ann Arbor for the Michigan football game. The day started off rainy, but we enjoyed lunch at Pizza House, a trip to the M Den to but hats for the boys, and visits to the diag and the cube. By 2pm the rain had stopped and we watched the step show before heading to the stadium. We made a quick stop to visit Aunt Maran and Uncle Josh outside the stadium and then went to our seats. It was an exciting game! After the U of M victory, we used our ticket stubs to get into the volleyball game which was very fun to see.
