7th Grade Band Concert

Will had his final 7th grade band concert tonight. They sounded great! He got to play keyboard (xylophone), cymbal, and drum set. We stopped at Y'OPA for frozen yogurt to celebrate.

Happy Birthday Winger!

We celebrated Winger’s 2nd birthday today.  He had streamers by his bowl, fancy cookies, and a new stuffed rabbit toy.  He enjoyed a lot of sunbeams, walks, and belly rubs.  He fell asleep with his rabbit by his side.  

 

Teacher Appreciation Week Fun

We werr spoiled at school this week for Teacher/Staff Appreciation.  On Monday, we were treated to coffee and donuts in the lounge as well as a catered lunch from Olive Garden.  On Tuesday, we had a popcorn bar set up and on Wednesday there was a hotdog card and Crumbl Cookies. On Thursday, we enjoyed a swag bag with gift card and frozen treats!  There was also a snack bar set up all week.

 

13th Birthday Fun with Friends

Will had his final 13th birthday celebration tonight with some friends from school. We picked them up and went to Airway for dinner, bowling, and the arcade. Then they came back to our house forna sleepover. There was a lot of ping pong, dome hockey, knee hockey and general fun.

 

Birthday Traditions

Will is going to be celebrating his birthday with some friends this weekend so today was fairly low-key. While he was at baseball last night, Sign Gypsies came and set up his birthday sign. That was a fun surprise when he got home. He woke up to birthday streamers, balloons, and hanging lotto tickets (all traditions). He had a birthday donut and opened a few gifts before heading to school. His baseball practice was cancelled tonight so he was able to enjoy a concession stand dinner while we watched Alex's first Little League game. Will's birthday festivities have been spread out all month: watch shopping with Grann, Red Wings game and jersey, cake and gifts on Easter, his actual birthday, and a party with friends this weekend.  We can't believe we have a 10 year old and a 13 year old in the house!

13U BPA West Michigan Warm-up Tournament Champs

It was a great opening weekend for the 13U West Michigan Wild - they are tournament champs!  On Saturday, they played against the Broncos and won 7-1.  Their next game was against the Muskies and they won 13-1.  They ended up the #2 seed heading into Sunday.  Will played really well.  He went 5 for 5 at the plate and made a great catch in the outfield.  On Sunday, they had to play the Muskies again at noon.  They won again 13-2. The winning run came from a walk off grand slam by one of the new players on the team.  It was so exciting!  Then came the championship game against a very good (also undefeated at the tournament) Maroons team.  We were actually down in that game for a while but managed to come back to win 15-5 (great 6th and 7th innings).  We were also racing against storms that were coming through.  Instead of medals or a trophy, we get to customize jerseys for the team.  As we were walking back to the car, the sky opened up - we finished just in time.
