Addition - Day 38

Drywall started to day! The sheetrock is up both in the bedroom and the new basement. It looks fantastic! The siding was also delivered today so we are looking forward to that going up soon.

Addition - Day 36

The drywall was delivered today. In preparation, we moved and covered all our furniture. It should take 2-3 weeks for mounting, mudding, sanding, etc. This will probably be the most trying part of the addition process - and definitely the messiest!

Addition - Day 32

Today a new (smaller!) dumpster showed up in our driveway. The insulation was also put into place. The mechanical systems passed inspection.

Addition - Day 29

We filled our first dumpster and it was removed today. Another one will be dropped off later this week. We will have various inspections this week and they will start the dry wall next week.

Wedding Pies

I was recently hired to provide 18 pies for a wedding reception at the Eberhard Center in downtown Grand Rapids. I created 3 of each of the following: strawberry rhubarb, apple pie, cherry pie, key lime pie, french silk pie, and chocolate banana cream pie. The bride's favorite was chocolate banana cream so we added gerber daisies (her favorite flower) to one pie for pictures. I also created ribbon bands to hide the pie tins and placecards for each pie.

Addition - Day 25

The interior framing is complete and the doors and windows have been installed. They have also started running the plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. There is dust everywhere!

Addition - Day 22

They started on the roof today. We are re-doing the entire thing. They also started framing the hallways in the existing house.
