Mini Game at WMU

On Friday night, William had the opportunity to play a mini game at Lawson Arena before the WMU hockey game. We were then given tickets to stay at watch the Western game. Grandpa and Uncle Ken came down to watch as well. William was so excited and actually scored the first goal! The Bronco's student section was full and they did a great job of cheering on the little kids.

Fire Department Field Trip

Today was Alex's field trip to the Portage Fire Department. The kids had a tour of the facility and got to climb into the fire truck. They also learned quite a bit about fire safety. They all had a lot of fun!

On Wednesday afternoon, the boys enjoyed some unseasonably warm weather. We raked another large pile of leaves and they spent a good hour jumping and riding their bikes in it. On Saturday morning, William had his first real hockey game. They had the boards set up to divide the Olympic hockey rink and they got to play four 9 minute games with one 9 minute practice session in the middle. William did amazing! He scored the first goal for his team and scored 6 throughout the day. On Sunday, he had practice at Lawson Ice Arena (where WMU plays) and that was very cool. On Sunday, we also went to see the Peanuts Movie. The boys love Charlie Brown and really liked the movie. It was Alex's first time at the movie theater and he was very excited!

William found out he is going to be on a hockey team sponsored by Woodward's Garage. They got their uniforms today and were able to wear them at practice. William was pretty excited! He had a great day at hockey - he even scored two goals during their scrimmage.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! We spent the day: at hockey, carving pumpkins, reading Halloween books, and playing games. Finally, at 5pm, we went over to our neighbor's house for a little Halloween party. Then we got the kiddos in their costumes and braved the rain for trick or treating. William actually threw in the towel first but Alex was determined to go down a few more streets. We were all pretty soaked by the time we got home!

Fall Harvest

Tonight was the Fall Harvest up at school (as if there wasn't enough excitement during the day!). The kids enjoyed the games and had a few treats while we were there. The biggest hit, especially with Alex, was the DJ and dance floor. He probably danced half the time we were there. He really wanted to get his friend Addie to dance, but she was a little hesitant...

Moorsbridge Halloween

William had his class party at school today. After Alex's parade, I went up to Moorsbridge to help Will's class get into their costumes and to help with the games. It was fun to cycle through all the first grade classrooms and see the kids in their costumes. They had a lot of fun activities including: bean bag tosses, pin the nose on the pumpkin, a candy corn dice game, Halloween match games, mummy art project, candy corn pudding snack, and becoming mummies. Then Phil, Grandma, and Alex met us for the all-school parade.
