100th Book Club

This weekend, my book club celebrated its 100th Book Club with a trip up North. We stayed in Frankfort and went out for a fun dinner at Storm Cloud Brewery on Friday night. We sat on the enclosed patio and had heaters and blankets at our disposal. On Saturday, we drove into Traverse City and had lunch at The Little Fleet. Then we went wine tasting on Old Mission Peninsula. We wrapped up the day with some shopping and dinner in Traverse. It was a great weekend!

Air Zoo Field Trip

Today was Alex's class trip to the Air Zoo. I took the morning off so I could chaperone the trip. We were paired up with Diana - she is a sweet girl that lives around the corner from us. She will be starting Kindergarten at Moorsbridge next year as well. We started the visit in one of the classrooms where we learned about how birds, kites and airplanes fly. The kids got to make their own box kites and fly them outside. Then we had a quick snack before riding the rides. It was a fun field trip! I can't believe his last day of preschool is next Friday!

Mother's Day

We had a very fun Mother's Day weekend. It was a beautiful night for baseball on Friday night and Will's team won 10-9. On Saturday morning, we went for a walk through the neighborhood and visited the frogs at the frog pond. Then we went to the outdoor hockey rink so the boys could rollerblade and shoot around for a while. Then we had lunch at West Lake Drive-in and went to Wedel's to get our vegetables to plant as well as some flowers. Will went to a friend's house in the afternoon and we got some planting and work done in the yard.

On Sunday morning, William made me breakfast in bed. I received a lot of wonderful gifts from the boys including a potted flower, a sugar scrub, and a dandelion vase. Phil got me the Lego architect set which will be so much fun - my very own legos! We played some games on the porch and then went for a walk so the boys could collect some dandelions for me. Then we packed a picnic lunch and went to one of the local parks that has a trail, some fishing docks, and a playground. When we got home, the boys tried out Will's new slip and slide and we planted our vegetable garden. Then we roasted hot dogs for dinner and enjoyed s'mores.

Happy Birthday, Grandpa!

Happy 75th Birthday, Grandpa! Today, we celebrated Martin's 75th birthday (a few days early). We had a nice party in Grand Rapids with Aunt Mara and Uncle Ken and Katie and Will.

Birthday Fun

William was able to open his presents from us on Friday morning before school. He got a new hockey stick, a new hockey t-shirt, a CD, and the Lego Fire Station. William had fun celebrating his birthday with his baseball team on Friday night. Since it was his birthday, he got to bat first in the line-up. The team sang Happy Birthday to him after the game (which they won) and had baseball donuts. Grann arrived on Friday afternoon and was able to watch Will play. On Saturday, we had fun putting up Grann's gift (stick-on baseball pennants) in Will's room. We also went out to brunch and for a walk at Celery Flats.
