Birthday Fun

We had a lot of fun on Alex's actual birthday. He started off the day by sleeping in until about 9:45am. He was excited to find a giant "6" balloon outside his door and opened a couple presents. Aunt Mara and Uncle Ken made him a new trophy shelf for his room. Grandma and Grandpa gave him a "privacy pop" tent for his bed. Of course, we had to set that up right away. Then the boys and I went to Airway Lanes to go bowling and play some arcade games. In the afternoon, they went to a friend's house to play for a while. Phil came home from work early so Alex could open his presents from us: a big kid sleeping bag, a hockey shirt, and a new game. Then we went to the McDonald's with the play area for dinner and had cake before bed.
He loves his tent!

Happy Birthday, Alex!

We would like to wish our sweet Alex a very happy 6th birthday! He loves to play hockey, read, build with magna tiles, piddle around his room at night, and to sleep in.  We love you!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! This year, we hosted New Year's Eve at our house. We had five families total: 10 adults and 13 kids. The kids had a great time playing and the adults were actually able to enjoy a sit down dinner.

KOHA Holiday Tournament

The boys played in a fun 3-on-3 hockey tournament over break. William's team played in the 8U division and had 3 wins and 1 loss for the day. They played really well and beat one of their rival KOHA teams. Alex's team played in the 6U division, however, they ended up playing some 7U and 7U/8U teams. They only won one game, however, it was against the only other 6U team. They held their own against the older kids! Alex was very excited to try goalie for the first time.

Merry Christmas!

William woke us up at 6:00am this morning - but, we managed to send him back to bed until 6:30. Then we all went downstairs to find that Santa had paid us a visit. We had our traditional Christmas morning breakfast of cinnamon rolls, bacon, and sausage and then started opening our presents. We took our time and played with everything as we opened it. When the boys opened their disc golf cage, we bundled up and went out in the snow to throw some discs. It was a winter wonderland! Then we came back in to open more gifts. After lunch, we went back outside for a while. We have spent the day playing games, building legos, and reading books. Later this afternoon, we plan to watch the Polar Express.
