Weekend in the "D"

We had a great weekend in Detroit. We left after work on Thursday. It took us a little longer than usual due to the weather, but the boys were able to play for a little bit before bed. On Friday morning, we went to the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn. The boys loved looking at all the trains. The cars, airplanes, farm equipment, etc. were ok... but the trains were by far their favorite part. They really liked playing inside one of the enormous steam engines and they pretended it was an "El" and we were letting people on and off. Alex also had a great view of their electric model trains that were running from the engine so he was content to sit and watch. In the afternoon, Alex took a nap and Phil and William went to the mall to run around for a while. Then Alex had a "date night" with Grann and we took Will to the Pistons game. We had great seats - behind the basket and first row (behind courtside seats). The cheerleaders were literally sitting at our feet and they made friends with William. He got to dance with them and also got to meet Hooper the mascot. He also "caught" the balls and t-shirts they were throwing out. He seemed to enjoy the game and now wants to play basketball all the time in the basement.

On Saturday, Phil went down to the auto show and Grann and I took the boys for haircuts. Then we played until mid afternoon when Aunt Maran and Allie came over for dinner. The cousins had a lot of fun playing together. They get along really well.
