Up North - Saturday

On Saturday morning, we drove to Sleeping Bear Dunes and did the Pierce Stocking Drive. We went to the bottom of the big dune/overlook again and made the climb back to the top. This year, the sand was a lot dryer than in previous years so it took us closer to 30 minutes to make the climb back up. After climbing the dune, we went to the Platte River beach. The water levels are so high this year that the peninsula was completely under water. The boys still had fun skipping rocks, swimming in the river, and building a castle. Next we went to Moomer's for ice cream and saw their new sunflower field out back. Then it was back to the cottage for tubing on the lake and another fire.
