It was another rainy morning. Alex had his classroom meeting today and Will had a music lesson which involved playing the recorder along with the teacher on the video. Alex also facetimed with a friend and played Battleship (but were mostly just silly). The Little League baseball season was officially cancelled but WPLL hopes to be able to run clinics or informal games over the summer if it is safe to do so. Michigan reported 980 new cases today bringing the total up to 41,379.

COVID 19 - Shelter in Place - Day 47
Today was pretty low-key compared to Will's birthday. The boys did their school work and we were able to get out for a quick walk during a break in the rain (although, it did start raining while we were out). Alex made a "labyrinth" game for his daily STEAM activity and also completed a set of origami fingers. He's so quirky. Our mulch was delivered so we know what we will be doing this weekend! Despite a few days of reduced numbers, Michigan saw an increase of 1,137 cases which brings the total up to 40,399.

Birthday Fun
Even though we were stuck at home, Will had a pretty great birthday. He received a lot of nice gifts (including a new phone), had friends stop by to leave surprises for him, he was able to choose where we ordered dinner (Bilbo's Pizza in a Pan), and we finished the night with DQ ice cream cake and the last Harry Potter movie.

COVID 19 - Shelter in Place - Day 46
We spent day 46 in quarantine celebrating Will's 11th birthday. The day was full of phone calls, messages, a people yelling "Happy Birthday" from the trail. We did school work in the morning but spent the rest of the afternoon outside. Our decorative pear trees have started to bloom and the grass is nice and green. Michigan reported its lowest increase in cases (432) since March 23. We are now at 38,210.
Bronco Brown Birthday Surprise
We have the best hockey family! Bronco Brown showed up big for Will tonight. They rolled in with signs and their horns blasting to wish him a happy birthday (at a safe distance).
Happy 11th Birthday, Will!
Will is ELEVEN! It has been quite a year:
- His Wild Baseball team improved quite a bit last season and even won a tournament
- He went on a special "10 year old" trip with Dad to Seven Springs in the summer
- He started his final year at Moorsbridge.
- He went to his first Michigan Football road game
- He was a 5th Grade Safety
- His Bronco Hockey team had an amazing season and came in second in the state tournament
- He had a great time at 5th grade camp at Sherman Lake
- He has spent the last 46 days at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic
- He continues to enjoy piano lessons via facetime
- He has started virtual schooling
We may not be able to celebrate they way you had planned but we will try to make the day special!
