The boys went up to the cottage for the day with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Mara and Uncle Ken. They had a fun day full of baseball on the porch, fishing, tubing, and dinner at Bud's.  Lucky boys!

End of All Stars

The WPLL 9U All Stars had quite a run. They played their fourth game in four days on Saturday morning against the South Portage "B" team. They ended up mercying them after four innings with a score of 16-6. They had Sunday off and then were back at it Monday night when they played the South Portage "A" team. We kept it close for most of the game and even tied it up 10-10 after three innings before finally losing 14-10. The kids played really well and were so fun to watch.

Great Wolf Lodge

William requested a trip to Great Wolf Lodge for his birthday instead of a big party with his friends. With school, baseball, and other weekend obligations, we weren't able to go until this past weekend. We left early on Sunday morning and drove up to Sutton's Bay to walk around our property. Then we stopped in Traverse City for lunch before heading to the lodge. We had a fun two days of water slides, lily pads, mini golf, mini bowling, and magiquest. Both boys want to do this for their birthdays next year!
Still a great view

Happy 4th of July!

We had a fun day celebrating the 4th of July and Phil's birthday. We drove to East Grand Rapids and left our car at the Hofmeyer's. We walked up to the parade and made a quick stop at "William's Favorite Tree" on Pinecrest. We picked up lunch at Subway and then found a spot on the parade route. We met up with a few friends that were in town and the kids managed to get quite a bit of candy. We decided it was too hot to do the festivities down at the lake, so we stopped at Jersey Junction before walking back to the Hofmeyer's. The Lanes invited us to go on their pontoon boat on Reed's Lake and to play at the beach which was a nice way to stay cool! The kids played in the water for a few hours and then we went back to the Hofmeyer's for a cookout and sparklers. Then we wrapped up the day back at the Lane's beach/dock for fireworks. Some of the other members put on a "private" fireworks show before the EGR fireworks.
