Moorsbridge celebrated "March is Reading Month" with a lot of fun activities. The theme was "Read S'More at S'Moorsbridge Elementary" or "Camp Read S'More." The entire school would have D.E.A.R. in the hallways a few mornings a week, they had "read-ins," and special spirit days throughout the month. The kids were also supposed to track their weekly reading. They submitted bookmarks with their totals each week with the goal of reading 200,000+ minutes as a school. William loves to read anyway but the added challenge pushed him to read A LOT. He ended up with over 2,000 minutes for the month. They had a wrap-up assembly on Wednesday where Mrs. Kirshman announced the totals and the teachers did a little performance. They also announced the top readers in each class. Mrs. Barlow's class read the most out of the second grade classrooms and William was the top reader in his class! Mrs. Kirshman announced his name, he received a certificate, and he got to go up on stage. We are very proud of our little reader.
Here is the dance the teachers performed. It also shows a clip of William's name being called.
