It really felt like a Friday today but at least we have a long weekend to look forward to. We have a mother robin sitting on her nest in the lilacs off the screened porch. We can't get a good count on the total number of eggs in the next but can catch a glimpse of blue through the leaves. I think all our planting is done for the summer: garden, herbs, flower beds, and pots. Since the boys have been home, they have been assigned daily chores (in addition to setting the table, clearing their plates, putting away laundry, tidying their rooms, etc). Some of those chores include: cleaning their bathroom, dusting the floor boards, swiffering the main floor, and watering flowers. Today, Will got to weed the cracks in our driveway. He did a very good job. He has also been practicing a lot of piano and is doing quite well. The "pieces" he is playing involve a lot of intervals and scales using different tempo, dynamics, etc. I also ran up to school today to pick some things up from Alex's teacher. She is retiring after this year and she set aside a bunch of her Boxcar Children books for Alex because he mentioned in one of his recent writing assignments that he had read one. While I was at school, I picked up their bags of school supplies from their desk. Now we don't have to wait in the car loop line to pick their stuff up next week. Michigan reported an additional 501 cases of COVID-19 today, however, gatherings of fewer than 10 people are now allowed as long as social distancing protocols take place (6ft distance, masks when inside, etc)
