Down on the Farm

On Friday evening, we had some new friends over for dinner. They were actually Sara and Jeff's old neighbors in Cincinnati. They were recently relocated to the Kalamazoo area and have two young boys. We grilled dinner and the boys ran around the yard. Alex found a train buddy in their 3 year old so he was happy. After they left, our new neighbors had us over for s'mores and some fireworks in the cup-de-sac. 

 On Saturday morning, the boys slept in until 8:30 but we were still able to make it to the nature center by 10am to help feed the animals on the farm. The boys were able to feed the chickens, brush a horse, and Alex made friends with one of the goats. Then we went and walked a few of the trails. We set a goal to walk every trail at the nature center as a family before the summer was over. We have checked off all but two! After naps, we went out for dinner and then stopped at the playground for a bit. 

 On Sunday, we spent a lot of time on the porch in the morning. We read books and played a few games. Then we had an early lunch before heading to the pool. While we were there, we ran into Marius, Maximus, and Martis which made the outing even more fun for the boys.
