Happy 4th of July

And Happy Birthday to Phil! We started the celebration on July 3. The boys helped me bake and decorate a carrot cake for Phil for his birthday. We also made him his favorite ice cream - coffee heath bar crunch. After Phil got back from work, we walked to the playground by the farmers market (the boys rode their bikes). When we got back we all had a piece of cake and then we did sparklers in the driveway. 

The morning of the 4th, we gave Phil his gifts. Then we packed up and went to Grand Rapids for the day. We met up with some friends to watch the EGR parade and then went down to Reeds Lake to play in the bounce houses, watch the water skiing demos, and get some balloon animals. Then we went to the mall to run around for a bit before going to Grandma and Grandpas so we could eat dinner and let the kids rest before the fireworks. Around 8:30, we drove back into East and walked up to the library. The kids really liked the firework display and then we got in the car for the ride home. Both kids fell asleep in the car. We got them into bed just after midnight and they both slept in for us!
